2019 FRIENDSHIP GAMES INTERNATIONAL PEEWEE TOURNAMENT – 30th Anniversary in Hachinohe, Japan 27th April to 5th May 2019
IHNSW is very excited to announce tryouts for its Ice Crocs Friendship Team.
IHNSW have been sending a team to this prestigious international competition bi-annually for 16 years. This year, on the 30th anniversary, the tournament returns to the home of its founders, the Hachinohe White Bear. And, for the first time in tournament history, the outcome of the tournament will be determined by a play-off format and finals series.
The team is guaranteed to play 8 games, with teams coming from Canada, USA, Japan, Czech Republic, Australia, and New Zealand. The team is likely to depart on April 25th and arrive home on May 7th.
All players will be billeted in pairs with local volunteer families during this tournament.
Preliminary budget for the trip is approximately $3,000 per player. This cost includes all travel, meals not provided by host families, uniforms, tournament gifts and events, and tournament fees.
There will be some fundraising activities that we will hold to help contribute to the above costs. The tournament is open to players (girls & boys) born in the 2005, 2006, and 2007 years.
TRYOUTS – $50 per player – Register here

Sunday 26th August – 1145am – 1245pm at Canterbury Ice Rink
Attendance at all tryouts is expected but not compulsory. IHNSW will provide selectors to evaluate and select players from the tryouts, and input may be sought from club team coaches. It is to your advantage to attend both tryouts.
It is essential you wear a jersey with a number on it and preferably your name.
You must wear the same jersey to all tryouts.
IHNSW will require players to meet the minimum standard of playing skill level, as well as behaviour expectations of a travelling team.
