Welcome to the Grant Hub section of Ice Hockey NSW — your central hub for funding opportunities relevant to individual ice hockey participants and clubs in NSW. Use this page to find grants currently open or upcoming, or to nominate new ones for inclusion.
Below you’ll see two main sections:
- Individual Grants — funding for players, coaches, officials, administrators
- Club Grants — grants aimed at clubs, equipment, events
Individual Grants
These grants assist individuals in sport for costs such as travel, competition fees, coaching, education, leadership or development. Eligibility, timing and amounts vary.

| Individual Development Sports Grant Program | Helps cover travel, registration and event costs for individuals selected to represent region/state/nation. | Example: closes 31 August 2025 for Maitland LGA. |
| Compensation Grant Program | For Paralympians whose Disability Support Pension is impacted by extended travel outside Australia for training/competition. | One round per year; amount depends on impact and circumstances. |
Local Council Grants for Individuals
Local Councils offer grants to residents to assist individuals representing their area, state, or country in sport. These grants can help cover costs such as travel, uniforms, equipment, competition fees, and recognise high-achieving athletes. Visit your local Council’s website or contact them for further information. Grant names may vary between councils, here are the commonly used Grant details below.

Club Grants
These grants are targeted to clubs They may support participation programs, events, equipment, or facility upgrades.

| Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program | The key objectives of the Program align to the Office of Sport Strategic Plan ‘Everyone Plays Here’, with the specific objectives to: To promote wider access to these devices across NSW To support local sport and active recreational clubs or related incorporated organisations located in, or servicing, the most disadvantaged areas of NSW in purchasing an AED package.
