Advice for Community Sport Activities – Thursday 6-5-2021 5pm until Monday 10-5-2021

The Office of Sport has sought clarification from NSW Health and can advise the following information relating to community sport and recreation activities at indoor venues:

  • People attending indoor venues are required to wear a mask. This includes indoor recreation facilities, gyms and pools.
  • People engaging in exercise or physical activity at all indoor venues (i.e. training or competing) will not be required to wear a mask while engaging in the activity.
  • Spectators WILL be required to wear a mask at indoor venues.
  • The mask wearing requirement will not apply to:
  • a person aged 12 years or under and/or
  • a person with a physical or mental health illness or condition, or disability, that makes wearing a fitted face covering unsuitable including, for example, a skin condition, an intellectual disability, autism or trauma.

MARKETING & PROMOTIONS COMMITTEE

We are seeking expressions of interest for Marketing and Promotions Committee (MP) Members. The MP Committee will be responsible for the promotion of our sport internally and externally. This Committee will work closely with the IHNSW Executive to develop and implement plans to promote the sport including:

  • Facilitate social media participation with stakeholders, actively engage, inform and entertain
  • Collaborate with all Clubs and areas of the sport to ensure their message and stories are being continually promoted and communicated
  • Prepare media kits / background information at the start of the year for upcoming events, activities and milestones

We are looking for individuals with:

  • Excellent management & organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong writing skills and knowledge of social media

Nominations are made in writing from the individual to IHNSW to  outlining your experience to be appointed.

Audit and Risk Committee

We are seeking expressions of interest for Audit and Risk Committee Members.

The role of the Audit Committee is to assist the IHNSW Executive in carrying out its duties as they relate to the Association’s accounting policies and financial reporting practices, the assurance process, the system of internal control and risk management, and the process for monitoring compliance with laws, regulations and corporate policies.

The membership of the Committee shall comprise such persons as are appointed by the IHNSW Executive.  The majority of the Committee should comprise independent persons including independent or appointed Directors. We are seeking members who have accounting, audit or related financial expertise, and/or interest in helping drive the sport towards better corporate governance.

It is likely the Audit Committee will meet in person up to 6 times per year, however email and online calls will also be involved. Terms of reference of the Audit Committee will be determined with the IHNSW Executive.
